Job Summary
Plan, organize, and direct a program of activities that challenges residents mentally and physically while adhering to physician restrictions and state/federal guidelines. Develop and implement activity programs tailored to individual and community needs, create monthly calendars, and coordinate special functions. Supervise assigned staff by hiring, training, and evaluating performance, while overseeing resident council meetings including agenda creation, facilitation, and follow-up. Complete required documentation, manage the activity budget, and assist in recruiting and training competent personnel. Adhere to a flexible on-call schedule involving evening, split shift, weekend, or holiday coverage. Maintain HIPAA compliance and participate in mandatory continuing education programs.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in the English language
- Works in compliance with all HIPPA regulations and standards
- Participates in facility and professionally sponsored educational programs, including continuing education programs to comply with mandatory in-service requirements dictated by State and Federal governments
- Working knowledge of computer programs i.e., publisher, word, etc.
- Previous experience in activities in long-term care
- Adheres to a flexible on-call work schedule which involves evening, split shift or weekend or holiday coverage
- During emergencies or natural disasters, may be required to remain on duty for the duration of the event
