Job Summary
Create and adhere to a monthly activity calendar while organizing, planning, and developing fun programming for residents. Coordinate special events for residents, families, and staff, and transport and supervise residents on outings, shopping trips, and doctor's visits. Screen, recruit, train, and coordinate all volunteers, and serve and assist residents in the dining room daily. Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment, observe and report resident health changes and safety hazards to supervisors, and assist residents with activities of daily living when needed. Provide training and guidance to staff on life enrichment programming, mentor new employees, and act as a facilitator at resident council meetings.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- one to two years related experience and/or training
- equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's
- Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
