Director of Accounting Systems

Job Summary
Develop and execute the organization's financial system strategy to support business objectives, operational efficiency, and scalable growth. Lead the implementation, enhancement, integration, and maintenance of accounting and financial reporting systems, overseeing upgrades and providing software evaluations to ensure successful user adoption. Manage financial reporting tools to drive process improvements that enhance data accuracy, reporting efficiency, and user experience. Optimize workflows by identifying opportunities for automation and standardization, while creating governance standards and delivering training resources to increase system proficiency. Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes through effective system management. Partner with Operations, Asset Management, IT, and Business Systems teams to ensure alignment across departments and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or equivalent degree or equivalent education, training and experience
- A minimum of 7+ years of accounting experience, preferably in multifamily residential or real estate property management
- 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and real estate accounting principles
- Experience with accounting/operating software such as Real Page, Yardi, MRI
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office (advanced Excel user)
- This job may require you to lift up to 20 pounds, such as computer or printer equipment, files, etc.
Desired Qualifications
- CPA license and/or CMA certification
