Job Summary
Lead the accounting team's performance, training, and development while overseeing monthly close activities including financial statement development, account reconciliations, and GL analysis. Drive cross-functional collaboration with operational groups to provide strategic financial guidance, manage external audits, and implement new technical accounting pronouncements. Ensure compliance with internal control processes and ASC 606 revenue recognition standards. Partner with FP&A and transformation teams on forecasting and budgeting processes. Report to the VP Controller and support early-stage growth initiatives with hands-on leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university
- Ten or more years of related experience
- 3+ years in management
- Strong technical accounting knowledge
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Confident with executive presence and the ability to work effectively and transparently with both the CFO and other members of the senior leadership team, without being too deferential
- High degree of maturity, integrity, and personal self-confidence tempered by self-awareness and self-reflection
- Must be comfortable openly admitting shortcomings
- Ability to build and motivate a team to improve the team's performance and contributions to the organization
- Skill in building consensus for new ideas and initiatives and in communicating effectively with personnel and groups at all organization levels
- Genuineness is required to build that consensus
- Must be willing and have the ability to participate in an early stage growth environment where it is required to roll sleeves up to tackle certain issues where bandwidth and/or skills of the team needs hands-on support of leaders
- Must have the ability to hear and support other leaders' ideas and initiatives regardless of involvement without feeling others ideas aren't valid, or feeling left out
