Director of Accounting

Job Summary
Director of Accounting responsible for leading the accounting operations for the Company’s funds, management entities, and investment properties; oversee the close processes (monthly, quarterly, and annual) and ensure timely, accurate US GAAP reporting; coordinate with third-party fund administrators, property managers, auditors, tax advisors, and internal teams; manage asset-level reporting, debt facilities, internal controls, and process improvements while mentoring accounting staff. Key duties include journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis, preparation/review of financial statements, NAV/process reviews with third-party administrators, and ensuring compliance across multi-entity structures and REIT obligations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive accounting experience including leadership responsibility in public accounting, corporate accounting, REITs, real estate, private equity funds, or related industry
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and experience applying accounting guidance in complex, multi-entity environments
- Demonstrated experience with internal controls, process design, and organizational control environments
- Strong business acumen with problem solving using technical accounting knowledge, sound judgment, and operational awareness
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage conflicting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proven ability to lead teams, collaborate cross-functionally, and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Technical proficiency in Yardi or other ERP/GL systems
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
- Experience with fund reporting, property accounting systems, and financial consolidation tools preferred
