Job Summary
Director of Accounting leads the accounting department for a not-for-profit healthcare program, overseeing budgeting, financial reporting, audits, and compliance. Responsibilities include supervising accounting staff, designing an effective organizational structure, coordinating annual budget preparation, enforcing accounting policies, delivering timely financial statements and budget-to-actual analyses, coordinating federal/state tax returns and audits (including UFR), ensuring GAAP compliance, and providing financial analysis and confidential handling of patient data. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, 5+ years of experience in the not-for-profit healthcare sector, and strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with advanced Excel proficiency and the ability to work independently and as a team player.
