Director of Accounting & Financial Reporting

Job Summary
Lead all accounting operations, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and Fixed Assets. Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process while ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and maintaining strong internal controls. Oversee preparation of financial statements and analyze performance to provide insights for executive decision-making. Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, and other business leaders to improve financial performance and drive continuous improvement in processes and reporting capabilities. Develop and mentor a high-performing accounting team while fostering a culture of accountability.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 8–12+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
- Experience leading accounting teams and managing financial reporting functions
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Experience with month-end close, consolidations, reconciliations, payroll, fixed assets, and general ledger accounting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate financial data into business recommendations
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP/accounting systems
- Must be able to regularly work from one of our office locations in Kennett Square, PA; Cambridge, MD; Aldergrove, BC; or Winnipeg, MB
Desired Qualifications
- CPA or equivalent certification preferred
- Experience with inventory and cost accounting in a manufacturing, agriculture, food production, or similar operational environment is a plus
