Develop and interpret nursing policies and procedures adhering to State Board of Nursing requirements and facility philosophy. Monitor staff practices, measure health outcomes against standards, and recommend adjustments to ensure quality service delivery. Oversee budget activities, evaluate nursing care inventories, and coordinate resources efficiently with medical, administrative, and community agencies. Participate in recruitment, select personnel, evaluate work performance, and manage orientation, education, and competency testing programs. Review daily reports to monitor patient conditions, transfers, discharges, and medication errors, ensuring timely responses to significant changes. Maintain effective communication with physicians and consultants to resolve problems and improve resident care strategies.
