Job Summary
Directs Vistra's Nuclear Site Engineering efforts as the Nuclear Station Leader responsible for managing the Site Engineering Department to provide strategic alignment, technical support, and daily engineering oversight for safe, efficient operation at one of Vistra's nuclear sites (Comanche Peak, Beaver Valley, Davis-Besse, or Perry). Oversees staffing and performance, resolves technical problems, provides engineering recommendations, and monitors departmental budgets. Coordinates with OEM vendors and regulators, prioritizes design modifications affecting nuclear safety, and fosters an inclusive culture that leverages diverse backgrounds. Requires an engineering degree and 10+ years of nuclear experience; SRO certification preferred. This role reports to site leadership and involves ensuring compliance with nuclear codes, standards, and regulatory requirements, budgeting and scheduling, and collaboration across teams to maintain safe and reliable plant operation.
Required Qualifications
- Engineering degree or related technical field
- At least 10 years of related nuclear experience
- Technical understanding of nuclear plant processes/programs
- SRO Certification/License for Nuclear Power Plant (preferred)
- Knowledge of nuclear codes, standards and regulations; budgeting, planning and scheduling, Vistra policies and procedures, nuclear station policies and procedures, and nuclear safety analysis and principles and practices
