Job Summary
Lead Operations Department activities to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant plant operations while overseeing staffing, scheduling, and performance. Plan and supervise technical and administrative activities, serving as the duty Operations Manager on-call. Terminate any plant activity jeopardizing safety or reliability and interface with regulatory agencies and industry stakeholders. Review proposed plant changes, evaluate operational impacts, and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency. Support workforce planning, employee development, and annual performance evaluations while fostering a strong safety culture. Monitor department budget performance and participate in station committees for operational governance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or another scientific discipline associated with power plant operations
- Minimum of eight (8) years of power plant experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of nuclear power plant experience
- Up to two (2) years of the remaining required experience may be satisfied through applicable academic or technical training on a one-for-one basis
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience within a nuclear operations environment preferred
- Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) License
- Must meet or exceed ANSI/ANS 3.1-1978 requirements applicable to Operations Manager positions
- Must satisfy all station and regulatory requirements necessary to maintain qualifications for the position
- Strong knowledge of nuclear plant operations, technical specifications, regulatory requirements, and industry standards
- Demonstrated leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities in a highly regulated operating environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage plant personnel, leadership teams, regulators, and industry stakeholders
- Ability to lead through changing priorities while maintaining a strong focus on safety, compliance, and operational performance
- Commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence
