Job Summary
Director, North America Payroll Operations leads and oversees payroll incident management, audits, and payroll data preparation for complex US and Canadian payrolls. Responsible for triage and cross-functional follow-through to meet SLAs, coordinating corrective actions to address variances before payroll finalization, and driving continuous improvement across payroll processes. The role involves preparing pay data templates, handling withholding, garnishments, and tax adjustments, leveraging trend analyses to reduce recurring issues, and executing strategic initiatives under senior leadership. Requires executive presence, strong analytical judgment, experience with ADP GlobalView or SAP ECC, and supervisory experience with 3–4 direct reports; knowledge of Canadian payroll requirements, California wage rules, and Workday ADP/Kronos integrations is advantageous.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- 5 to 8 years of experience in North America payroll operations
- Direct supervisory experience managing 3 to 4 direct reports
- Experience with ADP GlobalView or SAP ECC (Payroll)/Personnel Administration
- Advanced Excel and data analysis capabilities
- CPP or FPC designation preferred
- Knowledge of wage and hour laws and wage taxability; California requirements; Canadian payroll requirements (ROE, RRSP, provincial filing)
