Job Summary
Lead the nonclinical safety function as Director, overseeing pathology/toxicology programs, data interpretation, regulatory interactions, and cross-functional collaboration; requires DVM, PhD, anatomic pathology residency, board certification; strong in data analysis, communication, and mentoring; experience in immunology/virology/oncology desirable; biopharmaceutical industry experience preferred; location in California with on-site responsibilities; salary range based on location.
Required Qualifications
- DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine)
- PhD (post-doctoral or equivalent experience in comparative pathology, toxicology, or related field is a plus)
- Anatomic pathology residency training
- specialty board certification
- previous industry experience beneficial
- strong decision-making, complex problem-solving, and project management skills
- proven strengths in critical data analysis and interpretation
- excellent verbal and written communication skills including technical writing and presenting
- experience mentoring and developing junior scientists
- deep experience in immunology, virology, or oncology highly desirable
- ability to represent nonclinical pathology in external forums/regulatory interactions
- working knowledge of digital pathology, image analysis, and AI desirable
