Job Summary
Develop network and AI strategy, architecture principles, and technology roadmaps in partnership with senior leaders and operating companies. Establish governance frameworks to identify, prioritize, and implement high-value AI initiatives across network planning, operations, and assurance. Lead the integration of AI and machine learning into network optimization while partnering with security and data teams to manage deployment risks. Identify and scale AI use cases that improve incident response and capacity planning, ensuring safe, responsible adoption with human oversight and production controls. Evaluate technology partners to support informed investment decisions and build partnerships across central teams to promote consistent standards.
Required Qualifications
- Essential Experience applying AI, machine learning or AIOps within network planning, engineering or operations in a telecommunications environment
- Strong knowledge of network architecture, including 5G standalone, radio access networks and AI enabled network operations
- Understanding of AI governance, model lifecycle management, telemetry, data pipelines and production deployment practices
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders
- Experience defining technical standards and supporting adoption across multiple business entities
- Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills
- Inclusive leadership approach with the ability to work effectively across different teams, countries and cultures
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and adapt to changing business priorities
- Degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
- Professional certifications or continued learning in AI, machine learning, MLOps or AI safety
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with AI observability, model evaluation and agent tracing tools
- Experience working with hyperscaler AI platforms, model gateways or AI guardrail solutions
- Experience supporting network transformation or large scale technology programmes
- Commercial understanding of broadband, mobile and digital communications markets
