Job Summary
Directs the Municipal Police Training Academy at Bucks County Community College, providing administrative and operational leadership to ensure MPOETC-compliant Academy programs, curriculum development, and cadet/instructor support. Responsibilities include program oversight, collaboration with college administration and external partners, budgeting, scheduling, facilities, accreditation, and representation at professional events; requires strong leadership, instructional experience, and effective communication to recruit, retain, and graduate cadets and certified officers. The role may involve some evening/weekend hours and state travel; the college emphasizes an inclusive, equal-opportunity environment.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or higher in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Education, or a closely related field
- Ten years in law enforcement, including at least five years in an administrative or supervisory capacity OR fifteen years increasingly responsible full-time experience as a police officer with general police powers
- Possess at least two years of experience as a police or adult education instructor
