Job Summary
Lead school-based and division-level programs for Multilingual Learners, English Learners, and Immigrant Youth students within Richmond Public Schools. Direct Title III compliance, manage Language Instruction Educational Programs across all schools, and oversee the Welcome Center operations. Ensure complete Title III grant application execution, budget management, and federal regulatory adherence while conducting classroom walkthroughs to guarantee equal access to grade-level curricula. Collaborate with high schools to reduce dropouts and increase graduation rates to 80% by 2028 through targeted initiatives like Con Ganas and the Newcomer Academy. Spearhead division-wide language justice initiatives to eliminate communication barriers and guarantee timely translated materials for non-English speaking families. Analyze disaggregated ML subgroup data and WIDA progress targets to inform staffing decisions and continuous improvement. Direct evidence-based professional learning for LIEP and general education staff, fostering partnerships with external providers to advocate for ML families.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Education, TESOL, Educational Leadership, or a related field
- Postgraduate Professional License with endorsements in English as a Second Language and Administration and Supervision
- Minimum five (5) combined years of professional experience
- At least three (3) years teaching language acquisition services
- Additional years leading academic/multilingual programs at the school or division level
- Bilingual candidates required
- Spanish preferred
- Deep understanding of Title III of the ESEA/ESSA
- VDOE regulations
- WIDA English Language Development standards
