Director - Multifamily Asset Management

Job Summary

Manage a portfolio of 7 to 10 multifamily assets by preparing business plans, developing cash flow projections, and overseeing third-party service providers. Conduct regular property tours, inspect conditions, and coordinate competitive surveys to drive market knowledge and management strategy. Execute capital plans, review annual budgets, and approve capital expenditures while ensuring compliance with approved financial targets. Lead the due diligence process for acquisitions, oversee real estate tax appeals, and manage risk assessment and insurance compliance. Monitor weekly and monthly performance measures to identify trends, provide updates to senior management, and ensure accurate, timely reporting on variances and issues.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university
  • Minimum of ten years of related experience and/or training
  • Experience with both market rate and affordable properties (HUD Section-8, Section 42 LIHTC, HAP contract compliance)
  • Professional affiliation (i.e. CAPS or CAM designation)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers
  • Ability to effectively present information
  • Ability to respond effectively to sensitive issues
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents
  • Ability to comprehend legal language necessary, including but not limited to Fair Housing Laws
  • Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations
  • Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills
  • Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite

Desired Qualifications

  • Property management experience with oversight of large apartment communities (more than 200 units) preferred
  • Affordable housing experience a plus
  • Familiarity with MRI highly desired
