Job Summary
Direct retail operations, category management, wholesale sales, procurement, and promotions for general merchandise, OTC healthcare, and beauty merchandising. Manage P&L, oversee vendor negotiations, and develop merchandising programs to achieve budgeted sales and gross profit objectives. Analyze retail trends and competitive factors globally to align strategies with department goals, while monitoring post-promotional analysis to refine marketing plans. Develop quantifiable strategies for private brand growth, oversee retail event shows, and facilitate long-term contract negotiations with key suppliers. Lead cross-functional process improvements and manage department staffing, training, and performance goals. Requires a Bachelor's degree, ten years of category management experience, and up to 35% travel.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Marketing, or related field
- Ten years category management experience
- Five years product line experience in a supermarket retail and wholesale environment
- Five years of experience in a supervisory / management role
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to lead and rally the entire organization around the common vision of Best in Class Merchandising programs
- Superior merchandising and marketing skills
- Ability to size up markets and opportunities
- Strong listening, facilitation and influencing skills
- Ability to effectively manage internal and external business relationships
- Strong project management, analytical and decision-making skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to travel up to 35%
- May be required to lift and/or move 20 pounds
