Director, Medical Communications and Scientific Training - Oncology

Job Summary
Lead US Oncology medical communications and scientific training by developing integrated communication plans, educational materials, and digital tools aligned with global and field medical leadership. Execute omni-channel customer experiences, manage scientific narratives for the field, and maintain the medical curriculum for internal and external audiences. Collaborate cross-functionally with Global Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, and Commercial teams to ensure impactful content delivery. Apply sound medical governance and use data analytics to optimize engagement strategies. Work in a hybrid role with some travel, reporting to US Medical Affairs leads.
Required Qualifications
- PhD, PharmD, MD, or advanced science degree (Master of Science, MPH)
- 5+ years' experience within pharmaceutical or medical communications industry
- 1+ year of oncology/hematology experience
- Medical Affairs experience
- Experience developing slide decks and other scientific content
- Leading development and implementation of medical education material for external audiences and training material and tools for internal medical teams
- Experience with medical education meetings and digital/social media delivery
- Leading and working within cross-functional teams
- Interpreting, analyzing, and organizing scientific data
- Demonstrates effective communication and presentation skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Some travel will be required for meetings and conferences
Desired Qualifications
- 3+ years of oncology/hematology experience
- Experience in scientific communications preferred
- Experience in creating digital communication tools and platforms
- Experience with strategic and tactical publication planning, development of abstracts, manuscripts
- Knowledge of publication guidelines and practices
- Ability to work with new technology and teach others
- Ability to simplify complex concepts and communicate to diverse audiences
- Proven ability to interpret customer needs as well as negotiation and influence skills
- Ability to prioritize business needs and flexibility to address them when business appropriate
- Ability to cope under pressure with sometimes conflicting priorities
- Ability to produce concise and simple summaries of concepts and solutions
- Ability to complete complex assignments independently
- Demonstrated strategic ability
- Demonstrated leadership ability to work in a matrix environment with senior management
- Ability to build strong business relationships across various departments
