Job Summary
Director, Materials leads enterprise-wide procurement for electric, gas, and corporate operations, developing sourcing strategies, optimizing total cost of ownership, mitigating risk, and aligning with regulatory and financial objectives. The role heads a team of procurement leaders responsible for strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and category management, driving continuous improvement across procurement processes, systems, and governance. Responsibilities include managing strategic supplier relationships (OEMs, distributors, fabricators), overseeing budgeting/forecasting/performance metrics, monitoring commodity exposure, and guiding governance of procurement systems. Requires a Bachelor's degree (MBA preferred), 10+ years in procurement or supply chain with leadership in a regulated utility context, plus experience in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and contract negotiations; SAP/ERP experience and familiarity with cost modeling, RFPs, and regulatory considerations are expected.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field required.
- MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CPSM, C.P.M., CSCP) preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive procurement or supply chain experience, including leadership in a utility or highly regulated industry.
- Demonstrated experience leading strategic sourcing, supplier management, and contract negotiations at an enterprise level.
- Strong knowledge of utility operations, capital project sourcing, and regulatory compliance considerations.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and advanced procurement analytics.
