Job Summary
Lead the design and delivery for major Transmission and Distribution energy projects in the Eastern States of Australia from AECOM’s Sydney office. You will unite diverse technical disciplines to drive design excellence, provide senior technical and delivery leadership to enable complex grid-scale engineering workstreams, shape project strategy, and influence outcomes. You’ll build trusted client relationships, mentor the next generation of engineers, apply commercial judgement to align scope, budget, and schedule, and contribute to business development and proposals while leveraging global technical networks for leading practices. This role requires energy-sector project experience, strong leadership, and a track record of delivering major energy infrastructure projects with a focus on design rigour, safety, quality, and digital innovation.
Required Qualifications
- Registration on the National Engineering Register in Australia
- Ideally supported by a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) designation or equivalent international accreditation
- Capability in operating and leading teams as a technical and senior delivery lead across complex transmission programs
- Client relationship and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive client relationships as a trusted advisor with internal and client expert technical teams
- Ability to provide commercial judgement and pragmatism, understanding design and build cost considerations for clients
- A passion for mentoring and the development of others design and engineering technical abilities
- Flexibility with hybrid work options
