Job Summary
Underwrite complex formal and informal quote applications by evaluating medical and financial risk to protect mortality results while supporting sales. Analyze intricate data to reach comprehensive assessments based on company guidelines and policy, taking final action within approval authority up to $10,000,000. Manage a large caseload, defuse conflict, and negotiate positive results while providing training to internal and external customers on underwriting topics. Interact frequently with a sophisticated field force, wholesalers, and firms to deliver a best-in-class customer experience. This remote role requires 10+ years of life underwriting experience and reports to the Managing Underwriting Director.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of life underwriting experience with demonstrated competence and experience handling larger face amount cases
- Required Approval authority up to $10,000,000
- Must be organized and able to manage a large caseload
- Demonstrate superior technical underwriting knowledge and skills
- Ability to independently and effectively interact with a sophisticated field force dealing with an upscale market
- Experience with brokerage distribution marketplace
Desired Qualifications
- FLMI, FALU and/or CLU designations preferred or progress toward these designations
