Job Summary
Develop operational plans, manage budgets, and oversee programs for resident quality of life, including volunteer services, chaplaincy, beauty salons, and independent living activities. Drive marketing efforts using Village media to meet revenue expectations while ensuring compliance with city ordinances, state licensure, and federal regulations. Lead department associates, select hiring candidates, and maintain safe, clean environments through close collaboration with risk management, maintenance, and housekeeping teams. Establish policies, monitor performance, and represent the Village in community partnerships with colleges, schools, and civic organizations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Marketing, Public Relations, Business or a related field
- A valid driver's license
- Intermediate keyboarding skills
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Windows and PC applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Advanced level of promotional ability
- Intermediate level of special events planning abilities
- Advanced public speaking skills
- Advanced customer service and conflict management skills
- Intermediate financial management skills
- Ability to represent the Village well in a public setting
- Ability to work with older adults
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
- Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style
- Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
- Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables
- Ability to learn the point-of-service (POS) system and scheduling software program(s)
- Five years of management experience
- Five years of promotional planning and community relations
- Occasional travel – could be tour bus, boat, bus or plane
- Required to drive own vehicle both on and off campus to attend meetings and events
- All associates may be called upon to assist other departments in a declared emergency
- Post-offer background check and health screening required
Desired Qualifications
- Five years of experience working with senior adults preferred
- Three years in special events planning preferred
