Job Summary
Lead a Global Privacy Legal Team for the Americas as Director, Legal - Privacy & Data, advising on data protection laws (US and global) and partnering with cross-functional teams to create and scale privacy programs for Sony Interactive Entertainment’s PlayStation Network. Responsible for guiding privacy strategy, policy design, breach response, and ensuring privacy-by-design across products and services, including interaction with Product, Engineering, IT, Information Security, and Marketing. Requires leadership of a high-impact privacy program with 15+ years of experience, CA bar eligibility, and strong communication to senior stakeholders; security and privacy certifications are preferred. This role includes hybrid work in San Mateo, CA, with full relocation assistance and international travel as needed.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years experience in managing US domestic and global privacy and data protection compliance, including supervisory/managerial roles
- CA bar membership preferred or ability to qualify for Registered In-House Counsel status in California
- Experience creating and implementing privacy policies and compliance programs (international and domestic)
- Familiarity with data privacy issues including lifecycle, governance, and digital technologies (AI)
- Ability to communicate sophisticated legal/technical concepts to non-legal professionals and senior management
- Privacy certifications preferred (CIPP/US, CIPP/E)
- Willingness to travel internationally
