Job Summary
Director, Legal at Culture Amp leads global commercial and product legal matters, including enterprise customer and vendor contracts, and M&A transactions. The role mentors the Legal team, partners with Sales and Product, and advises on privacy, data governance and AI across a fast-moving SaaS environment. Requires 10+ years PQE in commercial law and a Bachelor of Laws or JD with admission to practice; in-house tech/SaaS experience preferred. Flexible, senior leadership focused on delivering commercially-minded legal guidance and strategic risk management across cross-functional teams. Hybrid work model with local Culture Amp offices (Melbourne) ~2 days in-office per week.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years post-qualification experience (PQE) in commercial law
- Bachelor of Laws or JD (admission to practice in a relevant jurisdiction)
- strong commercial skillset with experience negotiating and closing complex B2B/enterprise/technology contracts
- M&A experience and ability to manage transactions end-to-end
- in-house experience at a technology or SaaS company (highly regarded)
- ability to draft legal documents, policies, and strategies and communicate complex issues clearly to non-legal audiences
