Job Summary
Director of Investor Relations at Compass Minerals, based in Overland Park, KS. This strategic leadership role serves as the primary liaison between Compass Minerals and the investment community, leading the investor relations strategy, communicating financial and operational performance, and shaping the external narrative to support long-term shareholder value. Key responsibilities include managing the earnings cycle (press release, call script, investor presentation, and Q&A), coordinating with FP&A, Accounting, and Legal on disclosures, and organizing quarterly call logistics. The role also involves developing and executing IR strategy, engaging analysts and investors, planning site visits and analyst days, handling inquiries and roadshows, communicating performance and strategic priorities, preparing earnings materials and annual reports, monitoring market sentiment, and ensuring regulatory disclosures. Additional duties include maintaining the IR section of the company website, coordinating with Legal and Accounting on external disclosures, tracking analyst coverage, and collaborating with commercial teams to stay informed on relevant markets. Travel up to 10% is expected. This position is primarily office-based with occasional travel.”,
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- 5–8 years of experience in Investor Relations, FP&A, or corporate finance with a publicly traded company
- Strong knowledge of SEC reporting and public company disclosure requirements
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship management skills
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate financial and operational results into compelling investor messaging
- Ability to travel up to 10% for investor meetings, conferences, and company events
Desired Qualifications
- MBA, CFA, or other advanced degree
- Experience in mining, manufacturing, industrial, or natural resources industries
- Background in FP&A or Controllership
- Experience with Workiva, S&P Capital IQ (CapIQ), or other investor relations platforms
- NIRI membership or Investor Relations Charter (IRC) designation
