Job Summary

Lead the Investments, Services and Partnerships Portfolio, guiding three Teams through the transformation of the arts ecology in Edmonton's capital region. Translate the strategic direction of Connections & Exchanges into actionable operational plans to realize immediate and medium-term impacts on arts ecologies. Build programs, services, and partnerships that support capacity building, innovation, and resiliency while advancing equity and improving access to investment programs and retail services. Provide inclusive leadership to your teams, utilizing four operational approaches of Listening and Understanding, Shaping and Advancing, Seeking and Exploring, and Creating and Showing to ensure consistency in planning, delivery, and evaluation. Collaborate with civic stakeholders, the Board, and Executive Leadership to deliver high-quality outcomes and drive community impact through strategic thinking and outcome-based change.

Required Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree in Arts or Arts Administration, Business, Management, or similar courses of study
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience with progressively more responsibilities in arts administration, organizational management, senior leadership, philanthropic funding or program management
  • A demonstrable passion and knowledge for arts and culture ecosystems in a civic environment comparable to Edmonton's
  • A minimum of five years of experience in a leadership role
  • Proven ability to lead a collection of teams with unique mandates and deliverables
  • An approach grounded in collaboration, sound judgement, tact and diplomacy and responsiveness to diverse stakeholder needs
  • A champion of strategic thinking and outcome-based change to drive community impact
  • Demonstrated success working in partnership with civic and community stakeholders and partners, Board, Executive Leadership, and Staff
  • Demonstrated success in delivering high-quality outcomes on a consistent basis
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize and analyze complex problems, develop and evaluate options and implement appropriate responses and/or solutions
