Director, Investigational Drug Section

Oversee all Investigational Drug Section operations, including medication order verification, dispensing, and documentation for investigational drugs, chemotherapy, and supportive care. Supervise pharmacy technicians during IV admixture preparation and double-check verification processes while ensuring compliance with USP<797> and USP<800> standards. Provide pharmaceutical care through patient counseling, drug information support, and maintenance of medication lists and EMR entries. Manage drug inventories, ordering, receiving, and storage tracking for Phase I and conventional medications. Review new protocols and amendments, generate reports using the IDS drug accountability program, and maintain adequate investigational documentation. Work with study operations leaders to ensure efficient patient care, adherence to local/federal expectations, and resolution of known toxicities or drug interactions. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with up to 25% travel to sites; requires standing, lifting up to 25 pounds, and familiarity with sterile compounding and electronic medical record systems.
