Job Summary

Lead strategic HR initiatives across NBCU local television stations, including staffing, performance management, compensation planning, and succession planning. Create and execute a comprehensive employee relations strategy while partnering with business leaders on growth strategies and cost challenges. Work with managers to build career paths, develop talent pipelines, and provide executive coaching to department leaders. Resolve collective bargaining issues with unions, uncover HR process improvements, and interpret policies to maintain a positive, diverse work environment. Drive organizational change through new technologies, workflows, and staffing models. Hybrid schedule requiring four days in the Hartford, CT office. Bachelor's degree in HR or related field with seven+ years of professional experience required; MBA preferred. Previous labor relations experience and media/television industry background are assets.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
  • 7+ years of professional HR experience
  • Hybrid: This position currently has a hybrid schedule, which requires contributing from the Hartford, CT office a minimum of four days per week
  • As part of our selection process, external candidates may be required to attend an in-person interview with an NBCUniversal employee at one of our locations prior to a hiring decision

Desired Qualifications

  • MBA or master's degree preferred
  • HR certification desired
  • Solid interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated facilitation and coaching skills
  • Previous Employee Relations/Labor Relations experience
  • Proven business acumen, facilitation, conflict resolution and communication skills
  • Knowledge and practical application of HR disciplines including employment and labor laws, employee relations, management & leadership development, performance management, organizational design and compensation philosophies and knowledge of OSHA and workplace safety
  • Exceptional business partnership: able to establish credibility and rapport with operating leaders
  • Project and process management skills, demonstrated track record of delivering results
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong client-support orientation, and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization and with a wide range of clients, individually and in groups
  • Excellent employee-relations skill set; can earn trust and credibility with employees in assigned groups
  • Open and easily approachable
  • Previous experience with a union-represented workforce is a plus
  • Proven influencer; demonstrated ability to coach and counsel both employees and management
  • Basic knowledge of Labor Relations
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and lead change
  • Takes ownership; able to establish self as the 'go-to' HR resource for client organizations
  • Prior media/television industry experience preferred
