Job Summary
Develop and execute strategic HR direction covering benefits, compensation, recruitment, performance management, and teacher credential compliance. Manage the HR team, oversee annual benefit open enrollment, and maintain the HRIS to ensure legal and data compliance. Administer employee onboarding, conduct investigations, and implement safety programs while communicating policies company-wide. Report significant issues to the executive team and prepare departmental reports. This role supports ISANA Academies' growth as a K-12 charter school network, requiring direct collaboration with the COO and executive leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Education, Organizational Psychology or a related field
- Minimum of 5-7 years of Human Resources experience
- At least 2-3 years of experience as a Human Resources Manager
- Ability to think critically
- Possession of strong analytical skills
- Ability to interact effectively with company executives and employees
- Commitment to ethical behavior at all levels of the organization
- Strong understanding of federal/state/local employment and wage and hour laws and regulations
- Ability to build and lead collaborative, coordinated, and supportive relationships
- Demonstrate flexibility and innovation when faced with ambiguity
- Tenacity and a willingness to go above and beyond to achieve the organization's goals and mission
- Respect for the team and the communities CEG serves
- Passion for improving K-12 public education
- Ability to drive a vehicle
- Ability to obtain and maintain car insurance
- Ability to occasionally travel by train, plane, or other means outside of the Los Angeles area
Desired Qualifications
- PHR or SPHR designation
- Experience working with California charter schools
