Job Summary
Develop and implement best practice legal strategies for trade and working capital products to manage regulatory and reputational risks. Provide subject matter legal advice and support to corporate banking, infrastructure, and business functions globally on transactions across lending, real estate, and project finance. Represent the bank in legal proceedings, including litigation, arbitration, and regulatory investigations, while creating and reviewing legal documents to ensure adherence to laws. Maintain and update legal documentation for the corporate banking division and deliver training programs on regulatory requirements. Proactively identify legal risks and communicate advice on applicable laws, ensuring regulations are reflected within policies and controls. Manage a business function, leading strategic projects and influencing policy for the global legal team. Workload is split between complex structured transactions, regulatory change initiatives, and supporting the head of trade finance management.
Required Qualifications
- Director level English law qualified Lawyer
- relevant experience, ideally in trade and the export credit agency
- Excellent technical ability
