Job Summary
Director, Group Underwriting leads underwriting activities to ensure profitability, growth, and risk management; provides strategic direction to the underwriting function; collaborates with Sales and other business units to support sustainable growth; directs initiatives to improve portfolio performance, pricing, and efficiency; develops and mentors managers and teams, drives innovation in underwriting concepts, and aligns practices with corporate goals. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, finance, or related discipline, 10+ years of group underwriting experience, 5-10 years of relevant management experience, and professional designations are assets. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, Mathematics, Finance, Administration or any other related discipline
- More than ten (10) years of group underwriting experience
- Five to ten (5-10) years of relevant management experience
- GBA, CEBS, AICA, FCIA, CPA, or MBA designations are considered an asset
- Bilingualism (English/French) is a strong asset and English proficiency is required to collaborate with teams outside Québec
