Job Summary
Lead all aspects of the Foundation's grant making operations, including Hospital funding, national grant competitions, and external initiatives, while driving strategy to optimize donor contributions and deepen relationships. Oversee monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of grant-funded initiatives to ensure programs meet deliverables and translate outcomes into meaningful impact for donors. Serve as the Business Lead for Donor Data Quality, collaborating with BIIT and cross-functional teams to maintain data integrity, implement quality strategies, and support data governance initiatives. Manage the budget for granting and data quality teams, resolve complex donor-facing granting scenarios, and consult on priority proposals to align restricted funds with effective grant execution.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years progressive leadership experience in the charitable sector with a focus on grant making
- A proven track record as a skilled leader
- Working knowledge of foundation/hospital operations, specifically granting
- Understanding of general and fund accounting principles
- Knowledge of charitable sector regulation and industry guidelines
- Ability to work with and influence senior members of Hospital and Foundation communities
- Conflict management, negotiation and consensus building skills
- Ability to think strategically and consider Foundation-wide objectives while managing competing priorities
- Strong analytical and reasoning skills, with a meticulous attention to detail
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Familiarity with CRM platforms and basic familiarity with database marketing regulations (e.g., CASL)
- Understanding of donor data quality principles, methodologies and tools
- Proven track record at optimizing and enhancing processes to maximize efficiency
- Inquisitive nature, and ability to quickly learn and understand complex concepts
