Job Summary

Build Harvey's government affairs and public policy function from a standing start, establishing the strategy, engagement framework, and stakeholder relationships to position the company as a trusted voice in AI governance for the legal profession. Own the policy landscape by developing direct relationships with policymakers, regulators, bar associations, and judicial bodies across the US, EMEA, and APAC, while shaping the public narrative on responsible technology deployment and access to justice. Serve as a strategic bridge between external policy environments and internal product teams to surface regulatory triggers and inform go-to-market decisions. Hire and lead regional managers to scale the team, setting up operational infrastructure for stakeholder tracking and regulatory monitoring. Report directly to the Chief Strategy Officer with a mandate to define Harvey's position on the future of professional services.

Required Qualifications

  • A career defined by progressive depth in public policy, government affairs, or regulatory work
  • A policy-first orientation, not a lobbying-first one
  • Demonstrated ability to build, not just operate
  • Deep, trusted relationships with senior government, regulatory, and institutional stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions
  • Substantive familiarity with the legal industry, the judiciary, or the regulatory environment around legal services and AI
  • Bipartisan credibility and intellectual integrity
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication
  • Principled judgment in complex environments

Desired Qualifications

  • J.D. strongly preferred
