Job Summary
Lead the company’s global patient advocacy strategy for ATTR amyloidosis, building trusted, long-term relationships with patient organizations and communities while driving cross-functional collaboration to integrate patient perspectives into Medical Affairs and program priorities. Develop and implement a coordinated global strategy, act as an organizational expert on patient advocacy, cultivate enduring partnerships with advocacy groups, oversee sponsorships and grants, and ensure patient/caregiver insights inform decisions across clinical development, access, policy engagement, and education initiatives. Manage the patient advocacy budget, coordinate with vendors, and educate stakeholders to elevate the patient voice in decisionmaking, including engagement with HCPs, payers, and policymakers. Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree (graduate degree preferred) and 5-7 years in biopharma with 4+ years in rare disease/patient advocacy, plus strong leadership, budgeting, cross-functional collaboration, and ability to translate scientific information for diverse audiences.
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree is required; graduate degree in a relevant area preferred (e.g., nursing, pharmacy, genetic counseling, social work, public policy, or public health)
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical environment with at least 4 years of relevant experience in rare disease and patient advocacy; experience in Amyloidosis highly preferred
- 5+ years of experience leading and developing teams; demonstrated success in building high-performing functions
- Strong budget management and vendor management experience
- Experience translating scientific information to plain language and communicating with patient organizations, caregivers, and stakeholders
- Understanding of healthcare, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology industries; knowledge of regulations (FDA, EMA)
