Job Summary

Director, Foundation Relations leads identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of foundations to secure major gifts for WashU with a primary focus on the Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. The role partners with faculty and the philanthropic Strategy team to develop and propose fundraising plans, with potential to be the primary writer on grants. Responsibilities include developing innovative stewardship plans for foundation donors, providing timely grant reports, coordinating with faculty and staff to align proposals with priorities, identifying new prospects, maintaining the Office of Foundation Relations website and tracking systems, and coordinating foundation engagements and campus visits. The position requires strong relationship-building, strategy, and proposal development skills to advance university fundraising goals. It is based in St. Louis, MO with duties performed in a normal office environment and may require campus travel.
