Job Summary

Develop and implement cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies to identify, engage, and solicit assigned major gift prospects for the University's capital campaigns, endowment, and programmatic development. Create proposals and solicit gifts of $10,000 or more while managing donor relationships to ensure appropriate stewardship activities maintain and strengthen those connections. Educate current and prospective donors about planned giving opportunities to increase commitments within the Centennial Society, collaborating with trustees, administration, faculty, and staff to translate strategic priorities into development opportunities. Coordinate with senior leadership on fundraising initiatives outside the Office of Advancement, maintaining activity tracking in Raisers Edge. Work evenings and weekends as needed for events, travel locally and nationally, and exercise strong judgment with sensitive information. Requires a Bachelor's degree and four to five years of direct fundraising experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success in soliciting, negotiating and closing major gifts
  • Relationship-building skills with donor prospects
  • Knowledge of planned giving vehicles and their benefits to donors
  • Comprehensive campaign experience
  • Record of successful collaboration with high level staff, trustees, officers, administrators, and key volunteers
  • A strong track record of developing and implementing donor-centered stewardship initiatives
  • Knowledge of best practices in fundraising, donor stewardship, and advancement strategy
  • Experience with CRM systems
  • Data-driven decision-making
  • Ability to work well within a team and independently
  • Ability to represent the University in a variety of settings with confidence and diplomacy
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Ability to travel locally and nationally as required
  • Ability to exercise strong judgment
  • Ability to act in a principled, professional manner in working with sensitive, confidential information
  • A deep understanding of and commitment to the Catholic Liberal Arts mission of the University
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Four to five years of direct fund-raising experience
  • Experience in a non-profit or higher education setting
