Job Summary
Develop and implement cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies to identify, nurture, and solicit major gift prospects while maintaining relationships with existing major donors. Oversee Advancement Operations, including gift processing, acknowledgments, and reporting, while coordinating select events such as the annual Scholarship Benefit and the All Ways Forward speaker series. Manage logistical details for fundraising galas, serve as the primary contact with vendors, and support honorees and Trustees in outreach efforts. Coordinate stewardship activities for donors at defined giving levels, including endowed scholarship and Centennial Society members. This role reports to the Associate Vice President for External Relations and involves collaboration with senior leadership, faculty, and staff to translate university priorities into development opportunities. The position requires direct experience in major gift fundraising, event planning, and CRM management within a non-profit or higher education setting.
Required Qualifications
- Direct experience in soliciting, negotiating and closing major gifts
- Developing and implementing donor-centered stewardship initiatives that increase gift levels and donor participation
- Gift processing and acknowledgement communications
- Fundraising event planning and management
- Record of successful collaboration with high level staff, trustees, officers, administrators, and key volunteers
- Collaboration with Advancement office colleagues regarding proposal strategy and development
- Major donor components of alumni and fundraising events
- Event planning as required
- Creative, results oriented individual
- Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Deadline and detail oriented
- Strong planning and organizational abilities
- Enjoy the challenge of setting and meeting goals
- Flexible and adaptable
- Ability to work well within a team and independently
- Capable of representing the University in a variety of settings with confidence and diplomacy
- Ability and willingness to travel as needed
- Evening and weekend responsibilities as required
- Knowledge of best practices in fundraising, donor stewardship, and advancement strategy

- Deep understanding of and commitment to the Catholic Liberal Arts mission of the University
- Bachelor's degree
- Four to five years of direct fund-raising experience
- Experience in non-profit or higher education setting
