Job Summary
Director for Culture & Belonging leads a student-centered program to foster diversity, inclusion, and Christian virtue on a Catholic liberal arts campus. Responsible for implementing a Cultural Humility framework, overseeing international student services (DSO-F1/SEVIS), MOSAIC orientation, and study-beyond initiatives; advises student clubs (e.g., Black Student Union) and collaborates across Admissions, Counseling, Financial Aid, Athletics and other departments to support recruitment, retention, and student success. Requires strong leadership, cross-cultural communication, and the ability to build relationships with a broad range of constituencies; weekend/evening availability and experience in student activities programming are essential. Must align with Walsh University’s Catholic identity and mission.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Master’s degree preferred
- Experience in student activities programming
- Leadership development and training
- Advising students and understanding of college student development
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and analyze information
- Technology literacy and Microsoft Office Suite
- Weekend and evening work is vital
