Director, Food Safety and Quality Assurance - Buckhead Meat

Job Summary
Direct and lead Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) programs and inspection/audit procedures to ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements across Sysco Specialty Meat and/or Seafood facilities. Manage FSQA execution including supplier approvals, product sourcing, plant sanitation, recalls/traceability, and regulatory interactions; oversee training of FSQA programs and conduct or support SQF audits and other certifications; provide support during emergencies as determined by leadership. Emphasizes development, assessment, and optimization of FSQA processes such as HACCP, Sanitation SOPs, Pest Control, GMPs, Approved Supplier Programs, Foreign Material Control, and Food Defense and Security; effective communication with managers, customers, and regulators; and data-driven problem solving. Qualifications include education in Animal Science/Food Science/Biological Science (bachelor’s required, master’s preferred), extensive FSQA management experience in meat/seafood, HACCP certification, SQF experience, strong analytics and written communication, and a valid driver’s license.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Food Science or Biological Science from a four-year college or university
- Masters degree or higher preferred
- Valid driver’s license
- SQF Practitioner or equivalent GFSI scheme experience
- Meat and/or Seafood HACCP Certified (as appropriate)
- 5-10 years meat and/or seafood industry FSQA management experience
- FSQA management experience at a federal CFIA/FDA meat and/or seafood processing plant (as appropriate)
- Experience in supplier and customer interaction on FSQA matters
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Strong written communication and data interpretation skills
