Job Summary
Directs FP&A activities including leading the Long-Range Plan, annual budget, and rolling forecasts; prepares quarterly executive and Board reporting narratives; collaborates with R&D and G&A to track spend and drivers, provide variance analysis, and support strategic decisions; develops streamlined management reporting and department-level summaries; ensures data accuracy across financial models and source systems; drives optimization and scalability of FP&A systems (Planful) and automates processes; provides ad hoc analyses and strategic modeling; requires 10+ years in life sciences FP&A, strong Excel/PowerPoint, NetSuite/Planful experience, and GAAP knowledge; startup experience preferred; effective communication with stakeholders across functions; oncology-focused biotechnology context without disclosing specific role restrictions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required, or related area (MBA preferred)
- 10+ years of progressive experience in FP&A within the life sciences industry or equivalent
- Hands-on with startup experience preferred
- Proficiency in Planful, NetSuite (or similar FP&A tools)
- Mastery of Excel and PowerPoint; ThinkCell experience
- Strong GAAP knowledge and understanding of clinical trial accounting and drug development lifecycle
- Ability to explain financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; collaboration with internal/external stakeholders
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, agile environments; business-oriented with strategic mindset
