Job Summary
Direct the annual budget development and execution while collaborating with the superintendent and department heads to align operational budgets with instructional goals. Prepare budget amendments throughout the fiscal year, analyze financial information for variances, and monitor district fund balances to ensure adequate resources. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial guidelines by reviewing purchase orders against DESE coding standards and administering the district purchasing card program. Perform bank reconciliations, compile financial data for third-party reporting, and present monthly updates to the Board of Education. Manage year-end payroll processes and coordinate audits while optimizing financial management systems for data integrity. This 12-month Director role reports to the Assistant Superintendent of Support Services with a minimum salary of $97,470.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- Job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility
- Knowledge of standard accounting procedures
- Knowledge of payroll
- Knowledge of audit
- Knowledge of budgeting
- Ability to do basic mathematic calculations
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations
- Ability to apply financial concepts
- Evidence of leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with professional/support staff
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain professional, collaborative relationships with district staff, administration, and community stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to handle information with utmost confidentiality
