Job Summary

Provide leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight for Oregon Region Plant Operations, Facility Services, Grounds Maintenance, and Safety functions. Maintain regulatory compliance with Joint Commission and CMS standards while serving as the Oregon Region Fire Marshal. Direct emergency response planning and intervene during immediate threats to life or equipment. Lead operational improvement initiatives, manage energy and utility costs, and oversee operational and capital budgets. Manage facility managers and Building Systems Engineers, including hiring, performance management, and union negotiations. Develop standardized training programs and present performance metrics to diverse audiences. Ensure purchasing strategies align with system sourcing standards while supporting workforce diversity and community partnerships.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Journeyman plant operations engineer with 10+ years of senior leadership experience in plant operations, maintenance, and safety programs across multi‐campus facilities
  • Minimum of 7 years of healthcare industry experience
  • Expert knowledge of federal, state, and local codes and regulations, including OSHA, DEQ, ODOT
  • Strong expertise in Joint Commission, CMS Conditions of Participation, and Life Safety requirements
  • Technical knowledge of building systems, mechanical and electrical equipment, fire protection, alarms, and controls
  • Knowledge of CDC and ASHRAE standards related to infection‐risk mitigation
  • Proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems and standard business software
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet all applicable state driving requirements (as applicable)
  • Demonstrated leadership, motivational, and team‐building skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including formal presentations
  • Political awareness and strong interpersonal relationship skills
  • Strategic planning, organizational, and process‐improvement expertise
  • Project development and management skills
  • Sound judgment, problem‐solving, and decision‐making ability
  • Ability to manage changing priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to build effective relationships with senior executives, regulators, and labor organizations
  • Working knowledge of Human Resources principles and practices
