Job Summary
Cultivate a proactive safety culture by championing near-miss reporting, leading the Safety Steering Committee, and establishing effective safety leads across all operational sites. Oversee regulatory compliance for federal, state, and local standards while driving risk reduction through hazard identification and incident lifecycle management, including root cause analysis. Develop and execute comprehensive EHS programs covering chemical approvals, industrial hygiene, and environmental stewardship, acting as the primary liaison for external agencies and vendors. Conduct recurring site safety inspections and audits, manage monthly performance metrics and annual budgets, and serve as the EHS sponsor for capital projects. This strategic role requires travel and shapes future organizational structure as business grows.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related safety, environmental, or engineering field
- 10+ years' experience with safety or engineering responsibilities
- 5+ years of managerial experience
- preference in a manufacturing and warehousing environment
- Ability to train varied audiences (salary & hourly) on safety/ergo and environmental topics
- Some knowledge of industrial construction, plumbing, HVAC and electrical practices
- A thorough working knowledge of OSHA safety regulations
- Working knowledge of health and environmental regulations
- Excellent administrative and project management skills
- A good communicator, comfortable with both written and oral formats
- Independent self-starter
- Proficiency with MS office, other digital tools and workflow applications
- Good analytical skills
- Experience with budgeting and planning
- High level skill finding and implementing solutions to problems while working outside sphere of control
- Employment authorization to work for any U.S. employer
