Director, Enterprise Technology & Strategy

Job Summary
Develop and execute SHRM's enterprise technology strategy, roadmap, and investment priorities aligned with organizational goals. Chair the Technology Operating Steering Committee to establish governance processes that prioritize initiatives, manage technology risk, and support executive decision-making. Provide strategic advice to the Chief Financial Officer on emerging trends, cybersecurity risks, and technology investments while overseeing a co-sourced technology operating model. Govern enterprise infrastructure, cloud environments, identity management, and cybersecurity initiatives in partnership with internal stakeholders and external providers. Manage vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and the enterprise technology budget to ensure effective financial stewardship. Lead portfolio planning, digital enablement, and change management to optimize technology solutions and drive continuous improvement across the organization.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field
- Relevant equivalent experience in lieu of degree
- Master's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration (MBA), Technology Management, or a related discipline
- Ten (10) or more years of progressive leadership experience in enterprise technology, infrastructure, or information technology management
- Demonstrated success developing and executing enterprise technology strategies that align with organizational goals
- Experience leading outsourced or managed technology service providers within a co-sourced technology environment
- Strong knowledge of enterprise infrastructure, cloud platforms, Microsoft technologies, cybersecurity, networking, identity management, collaboration platforms, and digital workplace technologies
- Experience leading enterprise technology governance, strategic planning, portfolio management, and technology investment decisions
- Proven experience managing technology budgets, vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and technology procurement
- Experience leading organizational technology initiatives and change management efforts
- Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships with executive leadership and business stakeholders
- Ability to effectively leverage artificial intelligence (AI) tools and technologies to improve decision-making, optimize operations, streamline workflows, enhance productivity, and support innovation across the enterprise
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds as needed
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- Hybrid Schedule (3 Days In-Office/2 Days Remote)
- Tuesday through Thursday in office
- Monday and Friday remote
- Available during standard business hours
- Core hours beginning between 8:00–9:00 a.m.
- Core hours concluding between 5:00–6:00 p.m. local time
- Occasional 0 – 10% travel
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration (MBA), Technology Management, or a related discipline preferred
- One or more of the following certifications: ITIL Foundation or higher, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Microsoft Azure Administrator or Solutions Architect, Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT)
