Job Summary
Lead global data stewardship and governance as Director, Enterprise Data Steward – Master Data Governance. Own enterprise-wide master data governance across domains (e.g., product, customer, supplier, material). Define, implement, and monitor governance policies, standards, and best practices; analyze data quality reports and drive corrective actions. Manage a distributed team of data stewards, collaborate with global/ regional stakeholders, and harmonize processes. Support data migrations, system integrations, and master data transformations; develop process documentation, training materials, and work instructions. Promote metadata standards and MDM strategies across systems; evaluate tools for data lineage and policy enforcement; partner with IT and business to embed governance into data platforms; contribute to data literacy and organizational change management. Fluent in English and German; experience in regulated life sciences/pharma/healthcare preferred.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of professional experience in data governance, master data management, or enterprise data stewardship, ideally in a regulated industry (life sciences, pharmaceuticals, or healthcare)
- 6+ years of experience leading distributed teams and managing senior-level stakeholders in complex, matrixed organizations
- Proven success in developing and scaling enterprise-wide data stewardship and governance programs
- Strong understanding of master data management principles, governance frameworks, and metadata concepts
- Excellent working knowledge of ERP systems (preferably SAP) and data management tools
- Experience with data quality management, cleansing, and analysis tools is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented and structured approach
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, particularly in cross-functional and intercultural settings
- Ability to explain complex topics clearly and influence at all levels of the organization
- Proactive, solution-focused, and collaborative working style
- Fluent in English and German (spoken and written)
