Job Summary
Director, Engineering Group Leader responsible for delivering technology solutions within the Product / Platform at Bank of New York Mellon. Drive on-time completion of analysis, design, development, testing, and release of critical applications in partnership with the Product / Platform Manager; guide production issues, support, and root cause analysis; ensure adoption of development best practices aligned with standards and roadmap; coordinate vendor assessment and accountability; escalate incidents to the Engineering Lead; identify cross-pod technical dependencies; liaise with pod engineers and developers; provide technical feedback to Product Owners across technical teams; collaborate with the Engineering Lead to explore opportunities with new technologies through research and continuous improvement; track technology development KPIs with regular reporting; remote work may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any), or a related field
- Ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or in a related IT occupation
- Ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience must include: designing and developing scalable, high performing, and robust microservices using Java, Spring Boot Framework, Maven, REST APIs, IBM MQ, and Oracle PL/SQL; improving the resiliency of applications by fixing vulnerabilities identified using SonarQube and Veracode; identifying issues in Splunk logs and providing solutions; utilizing Agile software development methodology, and building software in incremental iteration in a SCRUM framework; deploying applications in containerized environment using knowledge of Docker and CI/CD pipeline; improving software delivery capabilities via automation and repeatability; and performing code reviews, coding assignments, and defining and implementing best in class standards.
