Director, Engineering - Comms Capture

Director of Engineering to lead the Communications/Data Capture and Integration teams at Gong. Role focuses on building and scaling data ingestion, pipelines, and integrations to feed the Gong platform, shaping data strategy, ensuring reliability at scale, and enabling analytics and AI capabilities. Responsibilities include defining technical strategy and roadmaps for data capture and integration platforms; driving scalability and reliability for high-volume real-time data; owning architecture across data pipelines and event-driven systems; improving developer productivity; ensuring data quality, governance, and security; hiring and mentoring engineering managers and senior engineers; and establishing best practices for observability and operational excellence. Requirements emphasize 8+ years in software engineering with 3+ years in leadership, expertise in distributed systems and data pipelines (Kafka, Spark, Flink, Airflow), cloud experience (AWS/GCP/Azure), and proven ability to scale data-centric platforms in a cross-functional, high-growth environment. Hybrid work arrangement of 3 days per week in the Dame St. Office in Dublin is noted.
