Job Summary
The Director, Engineering and Research will lead interdisciplinary teams to define and execute multi-year technical and research roadmaps, ensuring strategic collaboration between research and engineering to drive innovative AI solutions that enhance customer experiences. The role demands exceptional leadership, a deep understanding of AI/ML technologies, and the ability to manage large-scale cloud-native systems. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in building and scaling diverse teams, aligning stakeholder interests, and fostering a culture of innovation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 12+ years of progressive experience in software engineering and/or applied research
- 5+ years in senior manager or director-level leadership roles
- Significant hands-on experience with large-scale, distributed systems
- Deep expertise in architecting cloud-native systems
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Japanese is a plus
