Job Summary
Director - Early Childhood Education oversees development, organization, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of Early Childhood and Preschool Kindergarten/Kindergarten instructional programs to meet state standards; leads and mentors staff, communicates with families and community, participates in local collaborative groups, and actively contributes to local early childhood initiatives; focuses on improving student achievement through supporting teachers, paraprofessionals, and curriculum alignment, professional development, data analysis, and instructional practice across prekindergarten and kindergarten; works collaboratively with principals, teachers, and district leaders and fosters partnerships with programs such as Head Start and Parents as Teachers; requires master’s degree and experience in instructional leadership with a strong emphasis on curriculum, assessment, and staff development.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Education or Relevant Field
- Three years experience as a classroom teacher
- Two years experience as an instructional leader and/or district/campus level administrator
- Strong organizational, communication (written and oral), and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of developmental and academic milestones for early childhood and primary grades
- Evidence of leadership skills
- Knowledge of curriculum (pre-k guidelines) and state assessment objectives
- T-TESS/AEL or ILT Certified preferred
