Job Summary
Director-level leadership for digital media and corporate communications strategy across NYT’s social channels, owning development and execution of a comprehensive social/digital media plan, rapid response and issues management, and cross-functional collaboration with data and communications teams; role includes producing engaging content (including video) and guiding brand-consistent messaging during sensitive situations; requires 10+ years in social/digital media, strong writing/editing, stakeholder management, and ability to operate in a high-profile, fast-paced environment across multiple offices (NYC, SF, LA).
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in social and digital media and rapid response and issues management
- Deep understanding of current events and how narratives evolve across social and digital media platforms
- Experience developing and executing successful social media strategies with an understanding of online community dynamics and brand reputation management
- Proficiency with social media management platforms and social listening tools
- Exceptional writing and editing skills; proficiency with using creative formats and tools, including video, to share information across social platforms
- Demonstrated stakeholder management skills, with experience developing consensus and alignment on a strategic point of view across a diverse and matrixed organization
